Play Sharity is a local non-profit organization started by a group of Deming moms, and through their efforts and hard work, a children’s museum and toy lending library was born. With the support of the City of Deming and Luna County, the children’s museum benefits the lives of many children by using its non-profit status to bring many resources to the community of Luna County. This year their efforts have brought in over $213,000 in museum improvements and outreach, including an outreach vehicle, a backpack distribution, parenting classes, a summer feeding program, coat distribution, and a year's worth of monthly food distributions. In a partnership with Save the Children and Cohen Foundation, Play Sharity received an outreach mobile unit and funding to complete distributions from the vehicle. This vehicle is the first to be sponsored by Save the Children in New Mexico.
The Play Sharity Board of Directors and staff would like to thank Save the Children and Cohen Foundation for their continued support. They are thrilled with such a fantastic opportunity for our community.
